PHOTOGRAPHY
Laury A. Egan received a B.F.A. in graphic design/photography from Carnegie Mellon University and did an advanced workshop with National Geographic photographer, Sam Abell. As an illustrator, she was the solo photographer and designer of The Wines and Wineries of the Hudson River Valley, published by Countryman Press, and a participating photographer in Princeton Reflections and SMU Reflections. Her images have appeared on over sixty book jackets and covers as well as in the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Opera, and other magazines. In addition, Laury worked as a freelancer for most Lincoln Center organizations, the Opera Company of Philadelphia, and Plàcido Domingo's children's charity at the Washington Opera and Metropolitan Opera. Her photographs are in the archives of the Metropolitan Opera and the archives of the composer, Philip Glass, whose world premiere of The Voyage she photographed at the Met.
As a fine arts photographer, Laury has exhibited in numerous galleries throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She is an exhibiting member of the Guild of Creative Art, Shrewsbury, NJ, and a past president of its board of directors, with a website page: (www.guildofcreativeart.org). Her images are in the permanent collection of the Montclair Art Museum, the Graphic Arts Library at Princeton University, Southern Methodist University, and the Monmouth County Historical Association. Laury also serves as an instructor for private students and does portfolio reviews from her home. She has been listed in Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who of American Women. |
